Submitting a dispute to the resolution judge:
- Is quicker and easier and may be cheaper than regular court proceedings,
- Can be done without legal help (you can seek legal help, if you want; if you have a low income or few assets, subsidised legal aid is available (rechtsbijstand.nl, in Dutch)),
- Costs money (court fee). The amount of the court fee depends on the subject of the dispute and the amount involved.

You have a dispute with your current or former employer. This could also be a temporary employment agency. Your dispute may be about:
- wage payment
- working conditions
- hours worked

Dispute about housing or purchases
It is about money (more than 5,000 euro) or something other than money. You may have a dispute with:
- your neighbours about the construction or demolition of something built onto the house or in the garden
- your landlord about a rent increase
- a shop where you bought something
- someone you sold something to
Note: These matters can be submitted to the resolution judge only if the other party agrees to it.
Is the subject of your dispute not listed? Then you can submit it to the subdistrict courtor or the civil court or the administrative court.

You have received a letter stating that you are expected to attend a hearing by the resolution judge. Another person, a business or an organisation demands something of you.

You and another person or company have a dispute about housing or purchases.
You have indicated that you also want to take the matter to the resolution judge. You can respond.
