Judgment Court of Appeal Crimean Treasures on 26th of October 2021
Crimean Treasures
Both the Ukrainian State and the Crimean Museums lay claim to the Crimean Treasures, a collection of artefacts which was lent to the Allard Pierson Museum (APM) by the Crimean Museums in 2013. In 2014, it was not clear to the Allard Pierson Museum to whom the artefacts should be returned. The Amsterdam District Court determined in December 2016, in short, that the APM had to hand over the Crimean Treasures to the Ukrainian State. The Amsterdam Court of Appeal’s judgment is the decision on the appeal of that decision.
