The subdistrict court is part of civil law. The subdistrict court deals with cases involving money up to €25,000, employment cases, cases relating to rent, consumer sale cases and consumer credit cases. It also deals with cases that involve administration, guardianship, mentorship and accepting an inheritance.

Procedures at the subdistrict court

The subdistrict court deals with several different kinds of procedures in civil law: the summons procedure (the procedure to start a case), the petition procedure and the urgent procedure (preliminary relief proceedings). The procedure you need to follow depends on the kind of case you are involved in.

How much does it cost to bring a case to a subdistrict court?

A case at a subdistrict court can involve several different costs. You pay court fees so that the judge will hear the case. You may also have to pay for a lawyer, a tax adviser or an interpreter if you want one.
