Amsterdam, 03 January 2019

This is the fourth Update on the Netherlands Commercial Court (NCC). For previous Updates, go to the News page in the “About us” area.

The NCC (NCC District Court and NCC Court of Appeal) deals with international business disputes in Amsterdam. The NCC hears cases in English and its judgments are in English. The NCC is well positioned to swiftly and effectively resolve international business disputes.

On 11 December 2018, the Dutch Senate approved the legislation creating the Netherlands Commercial Court (NCC District Court and NCC Court of Appeal) as part of the Amsterdam courts. A few days later, the Minister issued the requisite decree, and the NCC legislation entered into force on 1 January 2019. That means the NCC is now open for business.

Updated website

We have updated this site. The site now provides information on a broad range of relevant topics, such as key features, jurisdiction, rules, costs and enforcement. For convenience of reference, we have also posted the NCC model clause, which may be included in contracts, in the “Procedure” area on the site.

Discussions are ongoing on how and when eNCC will be fully implemented. Until further notice, documents may be submitted in hard copy to the NCC Registry at the NCC mailing address, or as appropriate by email to NCC@rechtspraak.nl.

Video and social media

The updated website also features a short video that explains what NCC is all about. Check it out today.
